These things require an understanding of the local climate, the soil, the light at different times of year, and the way outdoor spaces are actually used by the people who live in them. That understanding is where our landscaping work begins.

We approach landscaping as we approach every other part of a project, as a design discipline first, and a construction exercise second. Planting is designed with the Algarve’s climate at its centre with drought-tolerant species, native Mediterranean planting, and the kind of considered mix of texture, colour, and scent that rewards spending time outdoors at every hour of the day. We work with local nurseries and horticultural specialists who know this soil and this sun, and whose knowledge shapes schemes that establish quickly and age beautifully.
